Hiya friends!
This year, I’m turning the big 3-0! My how time flies!! With this ‘milestone’ happening to many of my friends around me too, I’ve heard complaints like, “I just can’t eat what I used to…” or “Aging…it sucks for the waistline.” The fact is, it’s not just a complaint that 30 year olds have, it’s something that a lot of people struggle with as they age, including into their 40s, 50s and beyond.
Here’s the thing though: Your metabolism does not HAVE to slow down. There is so much you can do to mitigate it and keep it revved up well into your older years! In fact, if you feel like your metabolism has slowed, chances are it’s a sign of something else going on. So let’s get right into it.
If you can’t watch it, here is the most important point. Studies show dieting and heavily restricting your calories does not work! That puts your body into ‘storage’ mode and make sit much more efficient at the small amount of calories you do consume. So, when you inevitably fall off the bandwagon and go back to eating a normal amount of food, you gain all that weight back and then some.
If something advertises to you that it will boost your metabolism in a short amount of time, chances are it’s a gimmick. *Ok. Rant Over :)*
There is a lot at play with your metabolism, from blood sugar and insulin to thyroid and cortisol to your liver’s health, but regardless of the cause, 99% of the time major improvements can be made by starting simply with eating the right food. That’s why I offer the Weekly Meal Plans.
