You've probably noticed by now that I talk A LOT about gut health. The more I've learned about nutrition the more I have come to realize that everything is connected to your gut, including immunity, stress and many long-term illnesses. The cool thing is that it seems like everyone else has also started to take notice. There's actually a whole section in some Loblaw's stores now with probiotic foods and supplements!
If you aren't familiar with the term, the microbiome is essentially the community of bacteria and micro-organisms (good ones but also viruses and pathogens) that live in a symbiotic relationship in your gut. In the last 5 years there has been a lot of new research linking the microbiome to diseases like Alzheimer's, depression, auto-immune conditions and colon cancer.
If you're as excited about this topic as I am or know someone who is, my friends at Genuine Health have partnered with the University of Toronto to present The Microbiome Summit. This summit is the first of its kind to really dive deep into gut health so that you can discover the latest in health findings, directly from the experts themselves. When you register you have year-round access to an online portal with everything there is to know about the microbiome.
Here's what's included:
