I’ve been talking a lot about the Wheat Belly book and the Wheat Belly Live tour that’s happening across Canada. Two weeks ago I posted here about going for dinner with Dr Davis. Well, this past weekend I went to the first of the public Wheat Belly events that was in Toronto. I enjoyed it, and felt like there were a few key nuggets that I thought were really interesting, some of which I’m going to share with you today!
Getting off wheat is no simple task! For me, it’s been so many years of being off it I can’t remember what it was like, but the majority of people actually experience withdrawal symptoms, as after all, the body can be addicted to wheat. The symptoms typically last 5-7 days, but can be so bad that the person thinks he or she is NOT one of the ones who feels better off wheat, so they resume eating it. Don’t be fooled!! These withdrawal symptoms are totally normal, but there are a few things you can do and a few supplements you can take to help ease the transition and not cave!
For dosages of the supplements, it varies person to person, so you’ll want to work with a Holistic Nutritionist to ensure they’re right for you.
Have you tried eliminating wheat? How did you feel? Let me know, as I’m sure if you felt it, other readers would benefit from hearing!
